Ticket Alert: The Kimmel's 2008-2009 Season

This Monday at 10 a.m., the Kimmel Center releases tickets to the general public (i.e., those who do not subscribe) for all 2008-2009 Kimmel Center Presents shows and for some of the Broadway at the Academy Series. STILL BLACK, STILL PROUD: AN AFRICAN TRIBUTE TO JAMES BROWN. Cheikh Lo of Senegal and Vieux Farka Touré of Mali are guest artists in this tribute organized by veteran Brown band mates Pee Wee Ellis and Fred Wesley. August 21, 2008

AN EVENING WITH JOAN BAEZ. Baez has meant a lot of things to a lot of people: musicians, activists, politicians, Bob Dylan and so forth. If that’s not enough to convince you, she also just so happened to win the 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. October 26, 2008
