Carol Gerst and Leslie Kramer create all their statement-making designs together, weaving global influences that they’ve picked up from their extensive travels. (Lucky them — they were travel agents before the jewelry gig.) We love the dramatic necklaces, which are reminiscent of the eye-catching baubles seen all over runways this fall and beg for simple dresses. (Teaser: Look for Fashion Editor Carrie Denny’s favorite costume necklaces in the November issue of Philly Mag, which comes out next week.) It will come as no surprise that they are all handmade, using exotic materials like opals from Bali and quartz from Peru. Which is why it makes sense that these two Philadelphia natives, after trunk shows in Paris and Dubai, are getting quite the international following. Stateside, find their designs at Twist and at Frank Agostino Couture. Their fall/winter offerings include a necklace of rough-cut aquamarines from Brazil ($1,200), and a freshwater pearl necklace finished with 18K gold and a lemon quartz drop ($1,800), both shown here. Designs from their “Something Blue” line will also be featured at a bridal event hosted by Nicole Miller on October 19th, from 12 p.m.-5 p.m.
