The Dead and Obama: FOX News Should Have a Field Day

The Grateful Dead dead reuniting for an Obama benefit?

It’s just been confirmed that the Grateful Dead, or should I say the Grateful Dead minus patriarch Jerry Garcia (who has been dead for 13 years, if you can believe that), is reuniting for an Obama benefit on October 13th. Though the location had been rumored to be Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, it turns out that organizers have decided to split the difference and call it State College. In a move that should lose them a few of their Confederate flag-flying south of the Mason-Dixon fans, the Allman Brothers Band has agreed to open. Ticket info when I get it …

To get you all in the mood, here’s a clip of the Dead (with Jerry) performing "Dire Wolf" at the Spectrum in 1986.
