The leaves may have changed, but we continue to stay green with the opening of Philly Electric Wheels, our first electric bike store. The pedal-assisted cycles go up to 15 miles per hour, last 10 to 20 miles before they need to be juiced up again, and cost anywhere from $850 to $2,700. Zooming past suckers stuck on 76 and getting to work sweat-free? Priceless. 550 Carpenter Lane, 215-821-9266, ph-ew.com.

COMMENT:
I now ride to work. Wouldn't have dreamed you'd ever find me commuting on a bicycle. it's super fun, as fast as i like, quiet and cheapo to ride. i think it's the future.
