Five things that should be on your radar in June

Film
Latin-American Cinema
Muy caliente! Throughout the month, the Bryn Mawr Film Institute screens and discusses movies like Amores Perros and Like Water for Chocolate as part of its film education series, “Fire Down Below: Latin-American Cinema” (6/9-30; brynmawrfilm.org).

Commitment
Let’s Pretend We’re Married
Local stage veterans Jennifer Childs and Tony Braithwaite team up for a cabaret about love, sex, and tying (and untying) the knot. And because this comes from the silly minds of 1812 Productions, Braithwaite was ordained for the occasion and will happily renew your vows during the show. Seriously (Through 6/14; 1812productions.org).

Summertime
Outdoor Concerts
Ah, lawn chairs, grass-stained jeans, and the pungent smell of marijuana wafting through the air. Enjoy this month’s alfresco performances: the second annual Roots Picnic (Penn’s Landing, 6/6); Talking Heads guru David Byrne (pictured; Mann, 6/5); the return of Phish (Susquehanna, 6/7); the lovely lasses of Celtic Woman (Mann, 6/20-21); the apparently still-touring Def Leppard (Susquehanna, 6/23); and WAR, the Tower of Power and the Mingus Big Band at the (free!) West Oak Lane Jazz & Arts Festival (7100-7400 Ogontz Avenue, 6/19-21).

Charitable Gluttony
Great Chefs
Now this is our idea of a benefit: Vetri (pictured), Morimoto, Flay, Ripert, Garces, Solomonov and Colicchio cook at Osteria. You eat. Granted, you’ll spend $250 (that’s per person), but you can justify it to yourself, because it all benefits Alex’s Lemonade Stand (6/17; alexslemonade.org).

Nothing
Jerry Seinfeld
The man who spent the ’90s making you laugh your ass off about the mundane and contributing such catchphrases to the lexicon as “close-talker” and “mimbo” surfaces in four performances at the Academy of Music (6/19-20; kimmelcenter.org). Much better than watching the Soup Nazi episode for the 38th time.
