Power: Passing On The Bucks

This summer, local media was a-twitter with the publication of a photo in Ed Klein’s controversial new book, The Truth About Hillary, of onetime Rendell party planner Dawn Dugan engaged in a “mouth-kiss” with President Bill Clinton during Clinton’s visit to Philly in the closing days of the 2004 presidential election. Not only does Dugan maintain it was an innocent peck on the cheek; so does the photographer, Jay Clendenin, who was annoyed by Klein’s salacious treatment of his photo (shown below).

Now comes a new development: Playboy magazine has offered Dugan $700,000 to bare all, but she’s declined. Says the 39-year-old single mom, who hasn’t been a part of the Center City power crowd for a few years, “Who knew? I actually have integrity!” She adds, “Actually, I’m waiting for an offer from Real Philly.”  — Larry Platt
