“Candy, cigar-ettes!” Edyta Klimza announces in an inviting Polish lilt. Sauntering through the Borgata in a sexy uniform and pillbox hat, Klimza is a rare sight in Atlantic City these days: She’s a cigarette girl. The iconic cross of stewardess and flapper, toting a tray stocked with stogies and snacks, first sprang up in nightclubs in the ’20s, but after New Jersey banned almost all puffing on casino floors in April, the vestigial vixens went up in smoke. In fact, on this particular night, Klimza is the only one working in any of the 11 casinos. Need a light?
