Reason to go green #4,824: Free Parking

By Victor Fiorillo

Sure, we all want to reduce our carbon footprint, stop buying oil from America’s enemies, and preserve the planet for future generations. But here’s an absolutely selfish reason for Philadelphians to go green in a big way. Thanks to legislation  proposed by the NoLibs developing McDonald Bros. (Onion Flats, Rag Flats) and ushered through City Hall by Councilman Jim Kenney, any city resident who buys an electric vehicle is eligible for an “Electric Vehicle Parking Space” sign in front of his or her home. Granted, your PECO bill will increase, but what’s a few bucks for a PPA-free life?
