Film: Access Bollywood

With big-budget films from Marley & Me to Transformers 2 shooting here, Philadelphia is staking its claim to the title of Hollywood East. But could we also become Bollywood West? This fall, two Indian blockbusters are setting up shop in town, including an untitled action film starring Indian supermodel-turned-actor John Abraham and Katrina Kaif, one of the most downloaded women in Bollywood. That three-and-a-half-month shoot is already under way and wraps in November, just as the next project is scheduled to start production. Sources close to both films are mum regarding details, fearing media attention will draw throngs of fans and ravenous Bollywood press. But expect Philly to host more Mumbai blockbusters in 2009.
