Affairs: Give Larry a Chance

For his next literary trick, Larry Kane tackles John Lennon

By Richard Rys

“I am going to give you some information today that no one else has,” says Larry Kane, and when the dean of Philly TV news speaks in hushed tones, you listen. Photos of W. and Cheney partying at Abu Ghraib? “The name of the book is Lennon Revealed.” Oh. His new book. Right. Unlike his tales from the road with the Beatles in 2003’s Ticket to Ride, Kane’s new project — due this fall from Running Press — focuses on John Lennon, and comes with a DVD of the last filmed interview of Lennon and McCartney. “It’s not a chronological birth-to-death biography,” says Kane, “but it tells you the essence of who he was unlike any other book has.”
