The spare, chic, art-filled loft of Eugenie Perret and Michael Schmick

Almost exactly 10 years ago, industrial designer Michael Schmick purchased the Northern Liberties warehouse that once housed the Philadelphia Sign Company. Michael turned the building’s first floor into commercial studio spaces and the second floor into apartments, keeping a sunny southeast corner loft for himself.
