If a cushion can be as impeccably chic, as subtly rich, as wholly essential as, say, an Etro dress or a Gucci pump, then that pillow probably bears the label of Main Line interior designer Lori Shinal. In December of last year, the glamorous Shinal — a longtime Gladwyner who recently relocated to Center City — shipped her first eponymous collection of ready-made puffs to Barneys New York, for sale at select locations nationwide. Made with to-the-trade-only fabrics — plush velvets and satins by Lee Jofa and Romo, and trimmings like handmade rosewood buckles and luxe ribbons from Kravet and Samuel & Sons — the elegantly modern soft goods are designed for only the most pristine transitional spaces. “I’ve been making pillows for clients as long as I’ve been in business — 11 years now,” says Shinal. “These are a departure, more contemporary than the old-world, classic-with-a-twist style I’m known for. They would be a great look for an updated Center City loft or condo.” Pillows available through Barneys New York ($225-$365), or bespoke via lorishinalinteriors.com.
