As for the reason the starters played so much more, I think Tommy Lawlor nailed it in his DGR….
“CLE had 8 drives of 3 or fewer plays. They didn’t have any drive last longer than 7 plays. No drive covered more than 53 yards. This meant that the starters stayed well rested and there wasn’t as much of a need for rotation as usual. That’s probably why some backups played less than usual.”

The defense played well, for the most part, but I’ll tell you who won this game for the Eagles…Chas Henry…He boomed a ton of deep punts and gave the D long fields to work with

I think that one of the things that hasn’t really happened at a Reid camp in a while, is there was competition at pretty much every position. At every position some one was fighting to either earn a job or keep a job, and I think it shows in the first game. Yes it was the browns, but for the most part, other than peters and vick being vick, we are healthy and I like how things are looking. We shall see if next week if they can build on that

After yesterdays game, I wondering why Alex Henery didn’t have any competition at camp. Lots of vets they could have brought in to push him.

The Browns only had 59 plays to the Eagles’ 88. I am guessing that if the Browns O had been on the field more, Thornton, Hunt and Graham would have seen more plays.

Great recap. I am surprised by Graham’s small number of snaps. Might as well give Curry a shot if Graham is only going to get four plays.

Did Graham get fewer snaps just because Babin was such a beast in both run and pass Sunday?

Can we call the calf injury what it really was? Veteran Camp!
