Neither rain, nor hail, nor tidal wave will stop runners from racing toward a sandy finish line in the 37th Annual Captain Bill Gallagher Island Run. The 10-mile course starts on the boardwalk and leads only the strongest competitors to a David Hasselhoff-like finish at Beach Patrol Headquarters.

Cash, trophies and bragging rights go to the top finishers, awarded during a sunset ceremony. Runners of all ages are welcome to compete — all you leisure and speed walkers, cheer from the sidelines and hit up The Ocean Drive for "No Shower Happy Hour" before or after the race. At least you don't have to win to celebrate.
