Taste: Dinner With … Stephanie Reitano
Family meal: Our three kids love [Japanese favorite] Tampopo. That’s what they think of as fast food.
Pizza: Osteria. Jeff Michaud makes pasta for my littlest guy, who is eight and kind of picky. We also get the Nutella pizza. My family uses Nutella like peanut butter.
Dessert: Tiramisu at L’Oca. My husband John is from Padua, and it’s exactly the way his mom makes it. We have to order separate slices.
Burgers: I buy ground beef from the Fair Food Farmstand in Reading Terminal Market. My kids taste the difference when they get a burger from a restaurant. They say it doesn’t taste as “burger-y.”
Best meal ever: Twelve years ago, Shola [Olunloyo] made a simple fish with ratatouille and polenta.
Her favorite: On Mother’s Day and my birthday, Vietnam Palace. I get a lychee martini. John gets a beer. The kids get silly shakes. Guilty pleasure: Nothing makes me feel guilty. I might feel guilty when I eat five of Metropolitan Bakery’s cannelés, which are the most brilliant things made in Philadelphia. Why not? Life is too short to eat bad food
