Best of Philly 2005: Nightlife & Bars

Where to drink, dance and hook up

Happy hours

City: Wednesdays from 5 to 7 at Davio’s These two hours could become the happiest of your week, thanks to $4 martinis and wines by the glass, plus a stellar gratis spread featuring Di Bruno’s antipasto, crisp brick-oven pizzas, and salted baguettes with homemade tapenade and hummus (111 South 17th Street, 2nd floor; 215-563-4810).

’Burbs: Fridays from 5:30 to 7:30 at The Bent Elbo Tavern Like all the beer-splashed Shore bars you’ve ever been to folded into one charmingly ramshackle joint. The Elbo puts out a big ol’ spread of u-peel-it shrimp, meatballs, wings and more for its $5 happy hour, and draws a relaxed crowd of Tara Reid types. Dancing on the bar is encouraged (582 South Bethlehem Pike, Fort Washington; 215-646-2228).
