Every spring, beer gardens pop like cherry blossoms across Philadelphia in vacant lots, historic sites, and parks. These sometimes controversial spots provide spaces to gather outdoors and enjoy the warm weather over a frosty beverage.

Philly’s (and the world’s) tallest, SkyGarten — which looms 51 stories above street level — has reopened for a second season of German-inspired festivity in the Sky Philadelphia space atop 3 Logan Square (1717 Arch Street).

(Also, we hate to burst your bubble—but it’s just a coincidence that we’re posting this headline on 4/20. Only legal substances are served at SkyGarten.)

The winner of 2016’s Best New Beer Garden award is back with new sky-high sips. Spring selections begin with an array of German and American brews and fresh takes on classic drinks. When warmer weather arrives, bar manager Jesse Cornell will bust out SkyGarten’s new slushy machine for frozen margaritas and craft cocktails.

Bites from Chef Mark Brinton include barroom staples like Bourbon Buffalo Wings and Mac & Cheese Balls made with pepper jack and salsa verde as well as sausage-centric sandwiches and platters (served with a side of sauerkraut, of course).

And to make revelers feel even more like Olympian gods partying in the clouds, management has introduced a pager system that will buzz diners when their food is ready.

Get sweeping views with your brews Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m.-11 p.m. all spring and summer long.
