Meet Duke, This Week’s Adoptable Running Dog

This week’s adoptable running dog Duke is an energetic two-year-old who can’t wait to get sprung from ACCT. He’s a great runner partner no matter your pace, and he has a hilarious dog eyebrow that would make him an unparalleled selfie partner. Learn more about him below.

Age: 2 years old

Weight: About 60 pounds

Breed: Pit bull-terrier mix

Running style: Duke is like clay — he’s just waiting to be made into a great runner! He already has the basics down: He keeps a consistent pace (even for a recent Miler he ran with who is coming back from an injury) and seems to have good stamina. He is easily corrected if he gets distracted; a quick call of his name will have him refocused on you. He would make a great half-marathon or marathon training partner!

Why Duke is awesome: Duke has it all: he’s smart, handsome, athletic, and sweet. He loves to give kisses and hugs to his human friends. We think that in a home, he’d be a great snuggler. He’s also polite and knows some commands, takes treats nicely, and will return a ball to you when playing fetch. Duke is smart, too, and would probably do great on an agility course! He’d best be matched with an active family that is willing to provide mental stimulation and lots of exercise.
