Yards Releases Collaboration Brew with City Tap House

Plus a Fishy Friday and Easter Egg Hunt

If you absolutely cannot wait another minute for Yards to release this year’s Cape of Good Hope Double IPA, they’ve released a test batch/teaser for us—Sprung From Hope Double IPA, a collaboration brew with City Tap House.

“Sprung From Hope” is made from a variety of hops including Azacca, Galaxy, Mosaic, Citra, and whole flower Cascade hops, leaving tastes of citrus, mango, melon, and pine with a 9.9% ABV. You can find it at City Tap House University City and City Tap House Logan Square, as well as Field House.

And here’s some exciting news: we don’t have to wait until August to get our hands on Cape of Good Hope—it’s releasing early this year—May 1st.

Some other beer-related City Tap House news is their 4th annual “Good Fish Friday” happening tomorrow at the University City location. They’ll be tapping a variety of beers from Dogfish Head Brewery, Flying Fish Brewing Company, and Coppertail Brewing Co., and serving a selection of small seafood bites.

Here’s the beer list:

Dogfish Head: Indian Brown, Namaste, 60 Min IPA, Fort, and Romantic Chemistry

Flying Fish: Exit 9, Exit 18, Exit 4, Exit 16, and Farmhouse Ale

Coppertail Brewing Co.: Free Dive IPA, Unholy, Florida Farmhouse Saison, Sometimes You Don’t, and Whoops!

The food will include bites like shrimp and grits with Logan turnpike grits and braised collards, corvina ceviche with chicken skin strips, and grilled octopus tacos with salsa verde. The prices will be around $8-$15.

Then, to wrap the weekend up, City Tap House University City is holding an Easter egg hunt and brunch on Sunday. Bring the kids for brunch at 11 a.m., and the Easter Bunny will arrive at 12 p.m. for some Easter fun. There will also be balloon animals, and for the adults, plenty of “hoppy” beers. Reservations are recommended for this one.
