It’s Mexican Brunch Time at City Tap House

Summer is coming early at City Tap House University City today, March 5th, with the tapping of Flying Dog Brewery‘s new Mexican lager, Numero Uno Summer Cerveza, and a Mexican brunch.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. you can try Numero Uno and sip on some other Flying Dog beers along with Cerveza-ritas and Micheladas.

Here’s the Mexican brunch menu:

  • Huevos Choriqueso: Cantimpalo chorizo, “Bloodline” queso, pickled shallots, salsa rojo, and micro cilantro ($13)
  • Caramelized Plantain Pancakes: Sweet plantain cinnamon syrup, seared pork belly, toasted coconut, and crumbled pecans ($13)
  • Carne Asada: Grilled skirt steak, black bean grits, salsa verde, and cotija cheese ($14)
  • Arroz con Leche: Horchata rice pudding, blackberry currant compote, and cinnamon ($8)

Along with food and drinks, the festivities will include live music from The Liquid Americans.

Also—if you’ve ever heard someone say “piñatas are for kids,” they’re wrong (and you should probably stop hanging out with them because that’s lame). Piñatas are for everyone, which is why there will be one at the fiesta. Maybe Cerveza-ritas and piñata sticks don’t sound like a good idea, but we’re adults, right? What could go wrong?
