McCoy: Arians Could Use Our Players

At first, LeSean McCoy tried to let the question float by without saying much.

“It’s another game, another win,” the Eagles’ running back said when asked about comments Bruce Arians made during the week.

But he couldn’t let it go completely without directing a little jab in the Cardinals’ direction.

“But I’m sure he’d love to have some of these players on offense on his offense,” McCoy said. “College offense or not, he’d love to have some of our players on his team.”

Arians’ initial comments were in response to a question about the read option in general, not the Eagles specifically. While most players acknowledged that they were aware of what Arians said, they downplayed the idea that his words were used as some kind of motivational tool.

“Everybody knew what he said, but to tell you the truth, we could probably care less what Bruce Arians’ opinion is of the read option,” said center Jason Kelce. “So I don’t think that was too much of a brought-up subject. We know as an offense that as long as we do our jobs, we protect Nick [Foles], we open up lanes for LeSean that we’re gonna be a good offense.”

The Eagles’ offense was up and down against a very good Cardinals defense. Overall, they totaled 307 yards and 24 points and came away with their fourth straight victory.
